SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd., also referred to as SCREEN GA, announces the opening of its new Inkjet Innovation Center in Kyoto. The center is located at SCREEN GA’s Kumiyama site—the facility responsible for the development and production of the company’s graphic arts equipment.
In recent years, the commercial, publishing, label and packaging markets have seen a continuing rise in high-mix, small-lot production as more and more companies remain committed to contributing to a sustainable society. This has led the printing industry to adopt a broader perspective in optimizing printing methods so that companies have greater alternatives to minimize material waste and improve working conditions. To adapt, many print providers turn to digital presses, but find themselves challenged when trying to apply the same techniques used on their conventional equipment to achieve sustainability. To combat these challenges, SCREEN GA chose to open its new Inkjet Innovation Center where it hosts a wide range of applications using presses from the Truepress JET, Truepress LABEL and Truepress PAC series. Visitors are given product demonstrations and instructions on optimizing their pressrooms in environmentally conscious ways.
The opening of the new Inkjet Innovation Center in Kyoto marks the fourth of such establishments. The other three are located in Tokyo, the Netherlands, and the United States. President Ken Ingram of SCREEN Americas oversaw the development of the Inkjet Innovation Center located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. “We’re excited for our team members in Kyoto,” said Ingram. “We look forward to having our customers and prospects travel to Japan to see the new Inkjet Innovation Center at Kumiyama.”
