SCREEN Americas will soon occupy its new facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, as the company prepares the final touches of its new headquarters on Innovation Drive. Fittingly located in the neighborhood’s Technology Park, Screen Americas announced its official relocation date as February 15, 2021.
The new facility spans 48,000 square feet of which more than 14,000 is dedicated to the highly anticipated SCREEN Inkjet Innovation Center where SCREEN Americas’ customers will be able to engage in a hands-on experience with the company’s innovative inkjet technology that serves high-speed commercial, publishing, direct mail, transactional, label and carton and flexible packaging markets. The Inkjet Innovation Center will also be home to some of the industry’s most prestigious finishing companies so that printers may experience the complete printing process including SCREEN Americas’ pre-press workflow solutions, its Truepress digital inkjet series and eventually the finished product.
“Seeing SCREEN’s printing technology integrated with our partners’ will ensure that our customers are receiving the right solution,” said Ken Ingram, SCREEN Americas’ president. “With our growth over the last few years, the new facility will allow us to continue to expand and meet our customers’ needs now and well into the future.”
Consideration for the future is exemplified in SCREEN Americas’ decision to pursue with its relocation plans during the pandemic. It’s also a testament to SCREEN’s ability to creatively and constructively adapt to a challenging environment. Construction on the new facility began in September 2020 and was completed in a timely manner that is impressive under the current circumstances. “When the future arrives, SCREEN will already be there. We are looking forward to hosting printers in our Inkjet Innovation Center when the time is right,” said Ingram.
The new facility also consists of a complete warehouse, service center and extensive office and meeting space for SCREEN Americas’ staff. “My colleagues and I are very excited to settle in to our new surroundings. Technology Park is expanding. We’re looking forward to being a part of that expansion,” said Mark Schlimme, vice president of marketing for SCREEN Americas.
The Elk Grove Village location marks the third home in the United States for SCREEN Americas. Originally based in California in 1967, SCREEN Americas moved to Rolling Meadows, Illinois, in 1975. The need for the move to a much larger facility in Elk Grove Village is reflected in the growing demand for digital inkjet printing as well as SCREEN Americas’ overall success in growing printers’ businesses for over half a century.
